Tiramisu-Chocolate Trifle Recipe

tiramisu-chocolate trifles

Today we’re talking Italian! And that includes this delicious tiramisu-chocolate trifle recipe. As a member of World Market’s Trendsetter Tribe, I’ve put together some ideas and this recipe to help you create this Italian style dinner party. If you’ve never been to Italy I would encourage you to put it on your bucket list!

My husband and I had the chance to go to Rome before we had kids, and it’s an amazing place. The food, the wine, the sites…. it’s living!

Tiramisu is a classic Italian dessert, but I wanted to put a new spin on it. Since chocolate pretty much makes EVERYTHING even better, I decided to go with that. The result is this creamy, crunchy, indulgent dessert that looks wonderful displayed in mini glass cups.  Made with some of the ingredients I got from World Market’s gourmet section, I call it Tiramisu-Chocolate Trifle

Tiramisu-Chocolate Trifle

  • 1 package Lady Fingers
  • 1 box Tiramisu mix
  • 3/4 cup coffee mixed with 1/4 cup flavored creamer {I used Hazelnut flavor}
  • Dark Chocolate-chocolate chip “ready to bake” refrigerator cookie dough
  • Chocolate Mousse mix
  • 2 Tablespoons instant coffee
  • 2 cups Milk
  • Whipped Cream

Lay lady fingers in a single layer inside a shallow dish and pour prepared coffee/creamer mixture over top. Allow lady fingers to absorb moisture.

Prepare Tiramisu mix with 1 cup milk, according to package directions.

Place soaked lady fingers inside glass dish, and top with a layer of Tiramisu cream mixture.

Bake cookies as directed. I cut 1 piece of cookie dough into thirds to get the proper size for my glass cups. Once cool, lay a cookie on top of the Tiramisu cream layer.

Add another layer of cream and top with another cookie.

Prepare chocolate mousse with 1 cup milk PLUS the instant coffee, according to package directions. Add a layer of mousse on top of cookie, and chill until ready to serve.

Top with whipped cream and cocoa powder {included in Tiramisu mix box} and enjoy!

I was able to make 5 single serve cups.
