Making Crispy Kale Chips

kale chips

A few months ago my husband and I discovered kale chips. They’re kind of the latest thing in healthy snacking and now I see why. They cook up so light and crispy it’s like eating air!…but with flavor. Plus they’re one of those “super foods” full of nutrition and antioxidants.

We like to cook these up and munch on them before dinner, like an appetizer. Even the kids love it, which is always a bonus. Here’s how we make them…

Crispy Kale Chips

  • A bunch of Fresh Kale, clean and dry
  • Olive Oil
  • Sea salt

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Cut kale leaves into smaller sections. Lay them on a baking pan and spritz with olive oil on both sides {or toss with olive oil if you don’t have a spritzer}.

Cook for about 20 minutes or until crispy, turning half way through.

Remove from oven and sprinkle with sea salt, and enjoy.

NOTE: You may want to experiment with oven temperature and time. Some pros recommend a lower temperature of 250, while others go as high as 425. We found this recipe to work for us, but the kale can get pretty dark as it gets crispier. Our experiments with lower temperature led to softer kale which didn’t have a chip texture at all.
