Tips & Ideas For Hosting Girls Night In

ladies night

I’m all about a Girls Night In. I think one of the best things we can do for ourselves is to stay connected with our women friends on a regular basis. Up until the last couple of years {when almost everyone we knew here moved away} I was always part of a group {2 actually} who met up each month for food, fun, and drinks! I miss these ritual outings and I’m hoping our new neighborhood will be full of life and social butterflies like me.

Although our get togethers were always scheduled, sometimes you end up having those last minute gatherings because a small group decides they’re free and want to do something casual. I’ve teamed up with Sauza brand once again to bring you tips on hosting the best girls night in when you haven’t had time to plan. It’s all about being prepared ahead of time! FYI – I didn’t shop the store for anything you see here. It was all things I try to keep around as “staples.”

Food:

snacks to always have on hand

The first thing is food. It’s always a good idea to have on hand certain items that you can bring out at a moments notice.

  • Cheese and crackers
  • Brie with a topping such as pepper jelly or other preserves
  • Chips and dip or salsa
  • Nuts and olives

Fun:

conversation starter tags

Some people love to have something to “do” when they have company. Personally I just love the freedom to mix and mingle and chat up a great conversation. These conversation starter questions are always a hit and can generate some lively and hilarious responses. You can print them out and use them any way you like: tie onto glasses, turn them into cards, or put them in a jar and grab one at random.

Drinks:

You should always have some beverages stocked so you can offer something to your guests. Sauza Sparkling Margaritas can be a lifesaver in this instance.  I tried the classic flavor and the mango peach, and they are YUM-O;  not overly sweet, and they have a little fizz.  I love a drink with fizz!  Pour them into pitchers and serve on a tray with some cute stripey straws and fruit garnish.  Instant party!

Something Sweet:

sweets to have on hand

It’s easy to keep sweet treats on hand, especially when you shop the freezer section at stores like Trader Joe’s. They have these teeny tiny ice cream cones there, that are just the cutest things ever, not to mention a perfect portion size. You can also get frozen macarons from there. Colorful and flavorful sherbet is also convenient to have on hand. Use a tiny scoop to fill shot glasses, or add them to your drink for extra flavor.

Fashion:

fashion - go to outfit

Every girl needs a go-to outfit that she can throw on and feel great in.  Something you don’t have to think too much about, and you know just what accessories you’ll add.  One of my favorite outfits is a pair of slim white capris paired with a loose flowy top.  Jewelry in a complimentary color adds pops of interest, and I NEVER wear flats when socializing so an easy slip on wedge is a must!
