weekend style

This is quite an eventful weekend coming up – the Kentucky Derby on Saturday, Cinco de Mayo on Sunday, and I know some of you have birthday parties too.  For this weeks style guide I picked a little something for everyone.  Even if you’re doing last minute planning, I think you can pull these ideas together without even breaking a sweat.

  1. If you’re watching the derby, you MUST serve up some baby hot browns.  It’s a classic turkey, bacon, and cheese combo that’s so delicious you’ll want to make it year round for other occasions too.
  2. For cinco de mayo, the margarita is a no-brainer, but you may also want to mix up a little sangria too.  This blood orange sangria sounds refreshing and I can’t wait to make my own.
  3. Weekend projects that give your home an update without feeling like you need to be a carpenter or seamstress, are my kind of projects.  This monogram wall is such a cute focal point.  I’m dying to create one with little “N’s” all over!
  4. For the kids, this watercolor paint party is simple and beautiful.  It’s not over styled, and still looks great and inspiring, so for all you first time party moms, this ones for you.
  5. Tired of your boring old glassware?  Spruce up some $1 glasses with a DIY project that takes minutes to do.  Add gold paint dots {or any color} to the bottom half of the glass for a high end designer look.  These would look super cute done in an array of colors too, to match the watercolor party above!
  6. For the gal on the go running errands or party hoping, throw on a great fitting pair of jeans, a loose flowing top, and some comfortable wedges.  You’ll look effortless but chic, and still feel comfortable.

What are your plans for the weekend?  Attending any parties, or working on a project?  We’d love to hear about it.
