Weekend Style :: Home, Food, Fashion

weekend living - home food fashion

There’s more to parties and entertaining than just party decor, and I’d like to start introducing you to some of my favorite clicks of the week which also include home and fashion. I’ve always believed the 3 go hand in hand – you design your home to be welcoming and beautiful, therefore you want to host parties to invite guests in, and then you want to look great doing it!

I’m very excited about sharing this broader “lifestyle” view of home entertaining, and hope you’ll enjoy these peaks into living a lifestyle of casual beauty that encompasses all three aspects. Here are some of my favorite finds of the week…

HOME

adding Animal prints in home decor

I’m a HUGE fan of animal prints – not “in your face” animal prints, but a subtle throw here or a Louis chair there. HomeGoods shows you a whole list of ways to incorporate a little bit of that wild side into your home decor.

Spring mantel decor

Seasonal decorating is also a lot of fun to do and the mantel is the perfect focal point in which to do it. It’s also small enough that it doesn’t take a lot of ‘stuff’ to fill it up, or a lot of money. Sophia’s blog has a beautiful Spring mantel display that revolves around butterflies and birds nests. I’m IN LOVE with the framed moss & butterfly display!

FOOD/ENTERTAINING

the-best-sangria-ever

Courtney of Sweet C’s Designs says this is the “best white Sangria ever” and who am I to argue?! Sounds like a must-try to me, and the perfect drink to serve guests!

Mac and cheese in a jar

One more food in a jar idea, and I love it! Shannah of Just Us Four decided to make macaroni and cheese in a jar, which would be SO cute for kids parties or even a cocktail party for adults! She’s also sharing her recipe so check that out too.

fruit-dip

When it’s time for dessert but you need something light, serve up this cheesecake dip from Craftaholics Anonymous. With only 3 ingredients, why not give it a go this weekend? Sounds delicious and I think it would also be great served as part of a parfait with layers of crushed shortbread cookies and fruit.

FASHION

neautral hostess outfit

Every good hostess should look as great as she’s made her party look, don’t you think? This neutral toned outfit would be perfect for me and my casual-but-trendy style. I love the open knit sweater that provides just enough coverage for Spring so you don’t get too chilly when the sun goes down, and the booties – fahgetabout it!! – I wear heels with my night gown!!

Are you doing any entertaining this weekend? What’s your style?

Have a great day!
