DIY: Easy Fabric Bottle Bags

diy fabric gift bag

On Monday I showed you some ideas for creating Easter baskets for the whole family, including mini champagne bottles wrapped up in these fabric bags. You guys know I don’t like to fuss a lot over diy crafts, so this bag couldn’t be easier to make! I used scrap fabric in pretty Spring/Easter colors, along with ribbon on hand so there was no added expense either.  When you’re done, check out 3 more fresh ideas for Easter from some fellow bloggers {find links at the bottom}.

Here’s the simple step by step process…

  • I used the mini bottle as my guide and cut the fabric so there was enough on each side for a “seam” and enough length to fold up and over the entire bottle.
  • Use pinking shears so you don’t have to sew, and no worries about raveling.
  • Make sure your fabric is ironed and wrinkle free.

  • The “secret” to this no-sew project is to use a glue gun. Add a line of hot glue near the edge of the fabric, from the top to the middle.

  • Fold the fabric in half lengthwise to create a seam, and let cool for a few minutes. I found it was easier to hot glue 1 side at a time instead of both sides.

  • Once your bag is set, insert the bottle and tie a color coordinated ribbon around the top to secure.
  • Place these in your “mom & dad” Easter basket or any gift basket for year-round giving.
