Trend Alert – Lamp Shade Forms

lamp shade forms

I keep seeing this fabulous trend as I check out the wedding blogs, and it’s one of those things that’s so simple, you wouldn’t imagine it adds so much style to an event. I like to call it the “naked lamp shade.”

Designers all over are stripping down lamp shades to their wire form and hanging them, propping them, and draping or tying them with other materials. I pulled together some examples that I love – even the retro hanging fringe lamp shade makes an appearance!

I have a couple of old lamp shades my self so I’m pretty sure I’ll be stripping them down for a future photo shoot or party.  GoodWill and thrift stores would be a great place to find them, and they look right at home in any shabby chic or rustic design.  I think the sleek “architecture” of the forms would also look amazing and unexpected in a modern design!  Are you as crazy about this trend as I am?
