There’s nothing better or more classic than the combination of cheese, nuts, dried fruit, and crusty bread….add in a little bacon and it’s pure heaven. With that thought in mind I created these delicious sweet & savory cheese canapes for my black & white plaid party. These are versatile enough to serve for a casual or rustic setting, or a more elegant, sophisticated affair. They are quick and easy too, making them the perfect appetizer!

Sweet & Savory Cheese Canapes
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 4 oz blue cheese {Gorgonzola or Danish blue} crumbled and at room temperature
- 1/8 cup dried apricots, diced
- 1/8 cup chopped pecans, lightly toasted
- 4 slices bacon, cooked & crumbled
- 1 French baguette, cut into slices and lightly toasted
Mix together cheeses until well combined. Add dried fruit, nuts, and bacon and fold in until well integrated.
Spread mixture on baguette slices, and serve.
These are a wonderful combination of lightly sweet from the apricots, and salty from the bacon & blue cheese. I always love a little crunch too, so the nuts add that texture. I hope you’ll give this one a try for your next gathering!
Have a great day!
