I found a beautiful new blog to read this weekend – Sweet Something Designs, and while I was hopping around from post to post I found these ADORABLE and CHIC diy sweater pumpkins. These are the types of projects that I love to make and they add so much charm and personality to the season without being ‘overly crafty.’ I also love the idea that you can embellish them to be more casual and rustic, or dressed up according to your style.
A little more digging and I found the ‘originator’ of these little guys – Homeward Found, plus LOTS more inspiring posts from others who have made them. There’s even a tutorial HERE so you can make them your self. Check out all the cute sweater pumpkins below and follow the links at the end to see where they came from.

- Don’t you just love these little guys?! You can get old sweaters from thrift shops or Goodwill, and you can certainly use other colors than white/cream.
- There are so many decorating possibilities as seen here, like mantels, centerpieces, side tables, book shelves, etc.
- These also last the entire Fall season so you’ll get a lot of bang for your buck.
- You can make different sizes in different sweater patterns or fabrics {cable knit, chenille, corduroy, etc}.
- Add rhinestones, felt ‘leaves’, lace or ribbon, fabric flowers – anything to dress them up.
- There are also some great ideas below for incorporating the sweater theme into other areas like a vase wrap or even a table runner {use a cable knit throw}.
- Display small sizes inside urns, under a glass cloche, in wire baskets, in glass vases, etc.
