“I Dig You” Construction Party {Guest Feature}

If you have a little guy who likes to dig in the dirt with trucks and bulldozers, then he would love this Construction birthday party from Debbie of Wants and Wishes! As usual, Debbie adds just the right details to make this party special, from the mini trucks digging in the “dirt” {cookie crumbs} to the “nuts & bolts” snacks.

There are some darling road sign printables to compliment the design and those paired with the yellow caution tape create the perfect construction zone atmosphere. Check out all these fantastic ideas below…

Details from Debbie: “I found little sucker wrenches and knew I just had to create a construction party- they were too cute to pass up! :) Once my mind gets racing on a theme, I can’t get it out until I design it. The first item I created, which inspired the rest of the collection, was the “barricade” food tent labels! They turned out perfect and so cute! Assembly is very simple on these and add the little extra detail to the collection.

Each kid got a “tool box” to load up the “sweet” tools! Some of the treats were:

  • 6 foot bubble gum measuring tape. This was a huge hit with the kids (along with the sucker wrenches).
  • We had sugar cookie nuts and bolts
  • more nuts & bolts {gummy circles} packs with mini toppers
  • candy cane levels
  • Mini front loaders were filled with candy rocks. I placed them on an upside down tray filled with crushed Oreos.
  • The cake was frosted simple, then we added our mini construction signs like “Birthday Ahead”, “Detour- Birthday in progress”, and name and age signs. To connect all the signs I used Crazy Strawz that I found in The Art Institute in Chicago.

Great ideas, Debbie!  Thanks for sharing!
