BOOK REVIEW :: 3 Books For Entertaining

I’ve collected cookbooks and books on entertaining for years and even though I love the Internet for daily inspiration, there’s still nothing quite like curling up with a book in hand and perusing it’s pages while curled up in a comfy chair. Today I have 3 books to tell you about.  With this trio you’ll get a beautiful coffee table style book on entertaining, a trendy recipe book, and a book filled with useful tips on home, entertaining, and more recipes. Here’s what we have…

  • First up is the new book from HGTV star, Monica Pedersen. Make It Beautiful is her collection of sophisticated themed parties from the perspective of an interior designer. I love watching Monica on the show, Bang for your Buck, and her style is as classic and elegant as she is. Inside you’ll find a fun pink & zebra print baby shower, a casual graduation party, rustic dinner party, Christmas party, and many more ideas in between. This book is full of photos too which is a major plus.

  • Secondly, Thoroughly Modern Milkshakes by Adam Ried is a fun addition to any home entertainers bookshelf. It is filled with flavor combinations you never would have thought of from healthy to decadent to exotic. These recipes are certainly geared more for adults than kids, and some I’d like to try are the Strawberry Basil shake, Bananas Foster shake, and the Coffee Hazelnut shake. Mmmmm.

  • Finally, the book Home Made Simple is a great homemakers reference book. Not only is it filled with recipes and party ideas, but it also has great advice on home decor, gardening, and organizing the home. Another good addition to your library.
