Dr. Seuss Themed Baby Shower

Who doesn’t love Dr. Seuss? Whether you’re old or young the classic rhyming stories and whimsical characters stand the test of time. They are not just for kids birthday themes either. Cassandre of Cassandre Snyder Events recently designed a Dr. Seuss themed Baby Shower that is sleek and stylish. She shared with me a mock up of the tablescape she created, and at the bottom are a couple of photos from the actual shower {a little dark but I couldn’t resist showing the cuteness}.

I love the napkin “bow ties” and the cute menus, and any time there’s a hot air balloon in the decor it’s a plus. Check out the darling table and read Cassandre’s ideas below…

“Because it was a Dr. Seuss themed party, I thought it would be fun to have the guests bring books instead of cards for the baby. So, on the invitation, we used some sweet rhymey (not a word) wording asking guests to bring books with some nice words inside, so that the parents to be could read to the baby! These were added on a cute little pop-out card.

Instead of regular napkins we found the perfect red & white striped napkins and tied them into little bow-ties. We created custom menu’s since the guests had to pre-select their meals. This helped the servers move faster while games were being played.

We created a sweet little mimosa station and added the perfect blue & white & red & white striped straws to the glasses. On one side they had the guest of honor’s name, on the other they said Sip One & Sip Two! My clever 11 year old thought that up!

Since it was a baby shower, and Renee (mom to be) was about to “pop”, we had a fun “pop”corn bar and the signage was a play on Dr. Seuss’ famous, Hop on Pop- Get it?! As another sweet little favor, we had candy bars with some clever wording by my friend Mindy Weiss.”

  1. I love the balloon piece on the table. So great! I can’t tell, but was that a hellium balloon? How was that anchored to the table so it wouldn’t float away? I see that it is part of your rental inventory, but any guidance on how to recreate, that would be fabulous. Love this…Thanks for sharing.

    1. Hi Meghann,

Sorry for the delayed response. We found these balloons years back. They weren’t DIY. It is not helium, it’s actually a hard ball that was painted. We used a thin fish wire above the tables to make sure that they stayed secure in place! Hope this helps. Anymore questions feel free to e-mail me [email protected]
