Asian Style Burger Recipe

Summer grilling season is nearly here, which means backyard bbq’s, pool parties, margaritas, and burgers! As much as I love a classic burger recipe, sometimes I like to change it up and add a little “international” flare to it. That’s what I did recently with these burgers. I had a craving for an Asian-inspired burger and couldn’t find a recipe I liked (or had the ingredients on hand) so I created this one myself.

If you’ve ever developed your own recipes you know it can be difficult to be “exacting” on measurements, but I think I’ve got it documented pretty accurately {I was literally dumping ingredients in and eyeballing the amounts}. All the flavors blend together harmoniously and you can even add a little more or less to your preferred palate {that’s the beauty of cooking, right!}. I made these into sliders which is particularly nice when you’re hosting a cookout where there will be lots of side dishes to accompany the meal.

One of the keys to these burgers is the dipping sauce. I dressed these simply with “fancy” lettuce and monterey jack cheese, then dip them in Sweet Chili Sauce…..teriyaki sauce was also good. I hope you enjoy these as much as my family did!

Asian Style Burgers

  • 1 lb. ground beef (somewhat lean)
  • 1/8 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 Tablespoon Light Soy Sauce
  • 1/2 Tablespoon Sesame Oil
  • 1/2 Tablespoon drid minced onion
  • 1/2 Tablespoon prepared horseradish

Combine all ingredients together in a bowl. Form mixture into small patties (slider size) and cook in a pan or over the grill until juices run clear.

Serve inside party rolls with leafy greens, colby jack cheese, and Sweet Chili Sauce for dipping.
