Sweet Homemade Christmas Gifts
If you enjoy making your own gifts to give, here is a sweet gift idea perfect for teachers, co-workers, hostesses, or friends. I created a small crate “basket” filled with mocha coffee mixture (see recipe below), a mini pie, and special holiday mug…
You can use any attractive container that can be re-used by the recipient, add a block of craft foam to give height to the gift items, add shredded paper, the gifts, and you’re all set. I used a flip top jar to hold the mocha coffee mixture and a printable tag from Love the Day to top it off. The pie is placed in a cute bakers box from the craft store, and wrapped with twine. The presentation is as sweet as the edible treats inside! Here is the Mocha Coffee Recipe:
Mocha Coffee Mix
- 1 cup cocoa
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup powdered nondairy creamer
- 2 Tblsp instant coffee granules
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
Combine all ingredients together and mix well. Place in a resealable container for gift giving.
To drink: Spoon 1/4 cup mixture into coffee mug and stir in 1 cup of hot water. Enjoy!
Makes 10 servings.
You can also add in some DIY chocolate stirrers if you like. Just follow the link for the tutorial. Cheers!
We love this homemade basket idea for the holidays, and just featured it on our blog!
What size jars did you use?
What I used in the photos is small, like 8 oz. The recipe is for 2 1/2 cups.
