I have some very exciting news to share after keeping quiet about it for the last 4 months. I have a 4-page editorial design featured in the national publication, Yum Food & Fun for Kids! It all came about when one of the editors found my site and contacted me about holiday ideas for the kids. We discussed the kids candy coated Christmas party I hosted last year but she wanted more “tabletop” less “candy” centered ideas, so I set out to re-create a similar look, but for kids dining. Just to remind you, this was in JULY!! Kind of hard to get into the Christmas spirit, but I went into the attic and pulled out a Christmas tree and got to work. Lindi of Love the Day provided her Christmas printable collection as it matched my design perfectly, and Laura Gordon once again provided her amazing photography skills (she also shot my rustic-modern bridal shower design previously), and finally, Kori of Paper & Pigtails designed an ad for the magazine to place in it’s back pages. You can see some of the details below, but be sure to pick up a copy – it’s FULL of great kid’s party ideas. {BTW, those are my little darlings “modeling” in the photos.}
You can pick up a copy of the magazine at news stands like Barnes & Noble, Books A Million, and Target (& some grocery stores depending on your region). The magazine is dedicated to making fun memories with your kids, and this issue includes ideas for Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and more.
Just a personal note: Being published in a national magazine was one of my secret goals this year. I can’t tell you how much this has meant to me and my business. My real passion is developing party ideas that anyone can re-create themselves without having the “crafter” gene, or spending a fortune. Stay tuned – I have a couple more things up my sleeve to share soon!
