Kids Travel Theme Party {Guest Feature}

I wanted to do a recap post on my trip to San Diego and the HWTM launch party, but realized it would get pretty out of hand in ONE post. So for now I’m going to share one of my very favorite showcase tables from the event (there were 6 total) designed by the uber talented Abigail of Paper & Cake. Abigail did the only kids table design in the group and I am obsessed with the cute and creative details she implemented. The overall theme of the launch party was Wonderlandia, and this interpretation of the theme is an Imaginary Journey. Check out the stunning features as photographed by Abigail’s sister/photographer Missy of Missy Marie Photography

Each element of the table is perfectly thought out and executed. For the place settings custom crayon boxes were made for each guest, as well as party hats and cupcake toppers. Holes were drilled through wooden cutlery in order to combine a napkin tie with a place card, and personalized “passport” booklets are actually activity booklets.

The center of the table is filled with small suitcases, custom popcorn boxes placed on a pedestal(hat box lid + candle holder), and a fabulous globe that has been decoupaged with travel-related imagery. I adore the “world” covered cake pops that are displayed on the suitcase – most of us would do this display with the suitcase open but I love the unexpected touch of having it closed!

Other interesting ideas here are the wooden puzzles (with custom tags of course) as party favors, the playful travel stickers placed on the suitcases, and the paper circle garland hanging on the back of each chair (see top photo). I can’t get enough of this table! I hope you find as much inspiration in it as I do, and stay tuned for my recap post coming tomorrow. Cheers!
