Vibrant Colors Make Commercial Space More Personal

If you need some SWEET inspiration for a dessert display {with “no theme”} then check out this pretty birthday party from Blue Cupcake. This was for Julie’s 5 year old daughter who didn’t want a theme, just vibrant colors in a modern setting…and in a public play space!

Julie of Blue Cupcake explains the idea, “All Oceane asked for this year was to have pies and ice cream for her birthday – no theme, just all the treats she could have! So together we did some old fashion paper decorations to decorate the shelves of the front room at The Coop, her favorite indoor play place. In addition to the pies (one is berry and the other one is a lime pie made from the limes from our backyard!), I also baked a cake and some cupcakes to blow the candles the good old fashion way and to please the other kids. Then I made a few batches of marshmallows and macarons, and ordered the orange cotton candy.”

Julie did a great job of making a basic commercial space, adorable and festive. The paper chain detail and printed fabrics bring much needed personality to the space. I know a lot of parents hold their children’s parties at public play spaces, and this shows that you can dress it up and make it your own. We love that! Hope you’ll take some of these ideas with you the next time you plan on taking the party to a commercial space!
