Shabby Chic Birthday Celebration

There is something about French toile fabric that I just love. Seeing it combined with the rustic characteristics of burlap for this Shabby Chic birthday party that Rachel of A Little Cuppa Tea threw for her sister and cousin, sends me right over the top with joy! All the little details have a French flair to them, but there is a touch of rustic as well.

Rachel created a “Strawberry Fields” themed dessert table with red velvet cake, vanilla bean cupcakes with strawberry cream cheese frosting, chocolate dipped strawberries, strawberry cheesecake parfaits, and mini vanilla bean cheesecake bites. As heavenly as it all sounds, the pink & cream colors of the food look equally great with the color palette of the party.

Rachel shares more party details with us: “A mix of Depression glass, vintage pink wine glasses and aged plates made up our tablescape. The rest of the setting came from vintage candles and chairs that my Mother has collected throughout the years. The party sign was made with burlap, toile, ribbons, paint and hot glue. I wanted it to have a very “homemade” feel to it, so there was no sewing or measuring involved. The party favors were gift boxes from XPEDX, put together for everyone to take extra desserts home with them. The paper button flowers were found at our local craft store and placed on along with ribbons to tie them off. The individual flower pots at each
table were 99 cent bio degradable pots that we hot glued ribbon around. The napkins were vintage handkerchiefs folded into the same pots with the paper button flowers hot glued to incorporate the theme.”

What a pretty birthday celebration appropriate for many different age groups. Tres Magnifique!
