A Patriotic Luau

What a fun way to celebrate the 4th of July, Memorial day, or any summer party with this red, white, and blue themed Luau party from Laura of Eye Candy Event Details.   I mean who doesn’t love a Luau party afterall?!  I think the creative spin Laura put on it is just fantastic.  Check out all the details and read what Laura’s inspiration was below….

“The whole point in designing this collection was so it could be used for a variety of “american holidays” as well as a military party or homecoming.I wanted to design an “american holiday” collection that could be versatile enough for any American holiday, BUT I wanted to do something that also symbolized “summertime” so I combined the patriotic theme with a luau & came up with “Americana Luau” – a red, white & blue bash!

With the food, I choose store bought on some of the items to prove that you can throw a fun party that’s a little different on a budget . . trying fun little ideas, like the cupcake cones & brownie bites on skewers.

When planning this event, I decided to shoot it & use it for our family’s annual Memorial Day get-together. I also wanted to do some DIY décor & food on a budget so I could show you can throw a FUN, FAB party on a budget & not be a lot of work! Most of the items I made myself with items I picked up at The Dollar Tree or in the dollar section at Target – like the grass skirt garland or the table skirt – both made for less than $5!”

Some great ideas Laura used here that you could also re-create are:

  1. Serve your favorite beverage from a hollowed out pineapple.
  2. Present mini cupcakes or brownie bites on a skewer.
  3. Provide water balloons for the kids to have fun with.
  4. Serve cupcake cones for another cute presentation idea.

You can find this printable collection in Eye Candy Event Details Shop, to help you host your own Patriotic Luau.
