Little Cowboy Party

Giddyup cowboys & cowgirls!  Check out all the sensational styling by Julie Cox of A Reason to Get Together, for her son’s 4th birthday.   When Julie sent me an email about her party I couldn’t believe she did everything from making the treats, banners & buntings, printable tags & signs, to crafting saw “horses” & food display props, and sewing her daughter’s dress.  I’m exhausted just thinking about it!
The kids table was adorably set with cowboy hats, bandannas tied with name tags, a pack of crayons, and “milk” bottles with a monogram – all serving as favors.  Activities included “line dancing” on bubble wrap, making paper bag horse puppets, and decorating cookies.
The party was held during brunch which is great when young kids are involved as they are less likely to get tired and fussy during the party.  Julie served 2 breakfast casseroles, fruit skewers, and mini corn muffins, and provides aluminum pie plates to eat from, “ranch” style!

Drinks were served in mason jars (for tea), or from a large galvanized tub full of root beer, and bottled water with personalized wrappers.  The adult tables were covered with paint drop cloths – ironically, an idea I also thought of recently when my husband bought one for a painting project {great minds think alike, Julie ; D }!  The centerpieces were simply recycled cans filled with tall grasses from across the street, and wrapped with a bit of rope.
One of the cutest aspects of this party, for me, is the photo area.  I love all the dress-up props, the bales of hay, and the decorative props placed around.  What fun photos this would make!
Finally, the favors for the adult guests were jars filled with layered cookie mix.  The silhouette tags and signs were created by Julie in Picnik, using her son’s profile.  This is such a cute and personal touch for a party and would be fantastic for any event.
Thank you for sharing your darling party with us Julie.  It truly is inspiring!
