Expert Tips

  • Choose a drink by color so you can color-coordinate it to your party theme.
  • Give your drink a fun name like Grinch punch, Santa’s Helper, Santa’s “Slay”, Golden Tinsel, etc. Get creative!
  • Use seasonal garnishes like orange slices (fresh or dried), candied ginger, cinnamon sticks, frozen cranberries, lemon and lime slices, whipped cream, marshmallows and candy canes.
  • For cold punch recipes, chill all the liquid ingredients before combining them.
  • Make an ice ring for punch or a wine bottle chiller for white wine, or freeze vodka or tequila in it.
  • Keep hot beverages warm by serving them from a slow cooker (set to warm), filling insulated carafes, or from a dutch oven on the stove. Don’t forget the ladle for scooping.
  • Provide non-alcohol versions of cocktails so those who don’t imbibe have an equally delicious mocktail to drink.

  16. AWESOME, Chris! I have the tasing platters/sets myself, and they are the perfect serving size for a small gathering. I just love this sophisticated design.

  17. Anonymous, this is an "inspiration" design. The purpose is to give you ideas that you can incorporate in some way, big or small. It's also for an intimate gathering of 6-8 guests, so you wouldn't need lots of extra paraphernalia.
And, YES, my friends can attest to the fact that I do go over and above the call of duty when it comes to styling my own paries : )

  18. I love all of your designs / ideas… but am always curious if this is actually how you design your tables for the actual parties? Isn't it expensive to buy all the "tasting" size plates / spoons? Also, there is only about 6 salad shooters shown.. is that really all you serve? Thanks!! I'm having a party myself and am curious!
