Creamy Mac n Cheese Recipe

creamy homemade mac-n-cheese

If you are looking for a tried and true recipe for macaroni and cheese then look no further than this one.  This creamy mac-n-cheese recipe is rich and delicious, and makes a large amount for entertaining. Make this part of your holiday gatherings, including Christmas, Thanksgiving, or Easter!

We look forward to this recipe all year long, and I only make it when we have lots of guests because it makes such a large amount. It’s great to have leftovers but I would eat them all which is not good for the waistline so there’s that. Even my children love this and they are die-hard box mix lovers {as most kids are, right!}.

Creamy Macaroni & Cheese Recipe

1 (8 oz) package elbow macaroni, cooked
2 Tbsp olive oil
1 (16 oz) loaf Velveeta cheese, cut into 1-inch cubes
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
1 (12 oz) can evaporated milk
1 1/2 cups half-and-half
4 large eggs
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
Toss together macaroni and olive oil. Stir in Velveeta, cheddar, and Parmesan cheeses. Spoon into a lightly greased 11 x 7 inch baking dish. Stir together evaporated milk and remaining ingredients. Pour over pasta. Bake at 350 for 50-55 minutes.

I first had this at our “Friendsgiving” dinner and fell in love. I got the recipe from my friend but I think it’s an old Southern Living recipe. Give it a try, and you can always experiment with different types of cheese if you like.
